Betty Hurley died on November 13, at 2:45pm in the year of our Lord 2014. She passed away quietly in her sleep at the Country Villa in Claremont, California. She was 91.

Betty was born in Kasson, Minnesota to Sam B. Fjerstad and Clara Fjerstad. She grew up on a farm with her sisters Louise, Shirley and brother Sam. She moved to Washington, D.C. at the age of 18 to work and it was there that she met Arthur B. (Pat) Hurley. They were later married and relocated to Arkansas where Pat was a physical therapist during the war. During that time their first son Pat was born. After the war, they relocated to New Jersey where they raised 6 kids; Patrick, Eric, Kevin, Joanne, Timothy and Shawn. Betty and Pat were always there for their children, always attending sporting events that the kids participated in. She was predeceased by her loving husband Pat, her daughter Mary, and Grandson Justin. Betty is survived by her sons Patrick, Eric, Kevin, Timothy and Shawn and her daughter Joanne and 12 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Visiting will begin at 9am on Monday, November 24, at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am at St. Joseph Church, Jackson Ave., No. Plainfield. Interment St. Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
