Bette Ann Overk

Bette Ann Overk, née Case, 71, died on October 4, 2023.

Born and raised in Somerville to the late Joseph T. and Evelyn Case (née Lewis) she was a graduate of Somerville High School. She went on to marry the late Michael Overk and settle in Somerville where they raised their family.

Bette Ann worked as an Administrative Assistant in the actuary department at Chubb for over twenty five years. The Overks then retired to South Carolina ten years ago, moving back to New Jersey recently to be closer to her family. She enjoyed spending time in her garden and spending time swimming.

Bette Ann was a devout Catholic and lifetime parishioner of The Church of The Immaculate Conception in Somerville. She lived her life in faith and charity. Bette Ann was selflessly kind and well known for her caring nature. She loved animals, especially her dogs Henry and Lilly. An incredible wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend; she will be a deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Michael, her dear brothers Joseph and James Case, her beloved sister Pamela Stenger, her nieces and nephews Michael and Karen Case, Jeff Stenger, and Jamie Murray, her brothers in law Robert Murray, Frank Negrete, and William Stenger.

Surviving are her loving son, Daniel Osborne , daughters Michelle Meisner and husband Skip and Caroline Fish, grandchildren Kylie, Avery, Beau her dear siblings Connie Murray, Bobbie Case-Negrete, and Richard Case and wife Kathy, sister in law Helen Case, her nieces and nephews Kathy Case, Erin Case, Michelle Stenger, John Murray, Dan Murray and wife Donna, and Alyssa Murray, as well as many extended family. Bette also loved and took great care of her son’s girlfriend Jennifer's children, Willy and Jabari, while living in SC. Our lives will never be the same and she will always be our hearts until we are together again in heaven.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 to 5:00PM on Sunday. October 8, 2023, at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00AM on Monday, October 9, 2023, at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.

Family and friends are welcome to gather at the funeral home beginning at 9:00AM.

Interment will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery, Bridgewater.
