Barbara Ann Wastack

Barbara Ann Wastack nee Dancak, 82, died peacefully on May 20, 2022. Born and raised in Bound Brook to the late John and Genevieve Dancak (nee Przemylski), she was a graduate of Bound Brook High School, and a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary’s R.C. Church in Bound Brook. She went on to work for Johns Manville Research Center in Finderne, before meeting the love of her life, Leonard Wastack, and settling in Somerville on Walnut Street where they raised their family and spent over sixty wonderful years. Barbara worked as an executive administrative assistant for Hoechst-Celanese for 25 years. After her retirement, she worked for Marriott Corporation of Bridgewater as a secretary. Mrs. Wastack knew the value of giving back to her community as a member of the Somerville Elks Ladies Auxiliary and by volunteering her time to the former Somerset Medical Center for many years. She enjoyed traveling and spending time in Manasquan, LBI, the Poconos, and Arizona where she created cherished memories with her husband and family. She was preceded in death by her dear granddaughter Brittany Lyn. Surviving are her beloved husband of 62 years, Leonard Wastack, her loving daughters Linda Wastack and Sharon Joyce and husband Robert, her cherished grandchildren Tyler and Brianna, her dear sisters Virginia Lyons and Sandy Blazejewski and husband Ron, as well as her extended family and friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 9:30 to 10:30AM at Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Avenue, Somerville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00AM at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, 201 Vosseller Ave, Bound Brook. Interment will follow at Bound Brook Cemetery Memorial contributions may be made in Barbara’s memory to Alzheimer Association, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601
