Armando "Pinky" Gonzalez passed away peacefully on September 24 at home. He was the 4th child of the late Armando and Angela Gonzalez. He attended Somerville High where he was a junior varsity player for football and baseball. Pinky was known by many both in Somerville and Manville. He was nicknamed the "Mayor of Manville" where he reached out to others in their time of need. Pinky had that presence about him that when he saw you, his greeting made you feel unique. He was predeceased by his sister, Carmen Lapola. Surviving are his children James Luis Gonzalez and Jennifer Simms, his granddaughters who held a special place in his heart Lydia,Melody and Novalee of Greenwood, Indiana. Also surviving are his dear siblings Solanges Gonzalez and Hector L. Gonzalez . Visiting hours will begin at 2pm on Saturday, October 1st concluding with a service and remembrances beginning at 4pm at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made directly to family at the time of services.
