Antoinette C. Knopf, nee Stashak, 86, died peacefully on February 14, 2025.
Antoinette C. Knopf, a loving wife, sister, aunt, cousin and dear friend, passed away at the age of 86. Born in Bound Brook, New Jersey, to the late Joseph and Antoinette Stashak, she lived a life filled with love, creativity, and joy. A proud graduate of Bound Brook High School, Antoinette went on to attend Rutgers University Evening Extension School while working as a secretary for Union Carbide.
In 1965, while at Union Carbide, Antoinette met Donald Knopf, the love of her life. The two were married and spent many wonderful years together before his passing.
Antoinette was a woman of many talents. She loved knitting, sewing, and cooking, always finding joy in creating beautiful things for those around her. She was an active member of the seniors Bridgewater group for over 20 years, forming lifelong friendships. Antoinette also enjoyed playing Mahjong, often spending hours with friends in spirited games.
Known for her warm and welcoming nature, Antoinette’s presence brightened every room she entered. She will be remembered for her unwavering generosity, infectious laughter, and boundless love. A true example of strength, she touched the lives of all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved sister, Geraldine Stashak, and a loving extended family. She will be deeply missed by a community of friends who held her dear.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00AM on Friday, February 28, 2025, at The Church of The Immaculate Conception, 35 Mountain Avenue, Somerville.
