Ann J Malloy, 93, daughter of the late Frank and Mary Velcheck, died Thursday, March 31, 2011 at home. Mrs. Malloy was born and raised in the “Gateville” section of Bound Brook. She moved to Bridgewater in 1998. Ann had been married to Peter Malloy for 39 years at the time of his death in 2006.
Ann was employed for 30 years at American Cyanamid working in their “Blue Dye” packaging department. After her retirement from CALCO, Ann worked for Mignella Cleaners in Plainfield as a clerk.
Mrs. Malloy was a lifetime member of St. Joseph Church in Bound Brook.
Ann enjoyed cooking, baking and tending to her flower garden. She was an incredible and devoted caretaker and visitor to many friends and relatives that were in nursing homes or homebound. Ann was always available to lend a helping hand or provide a delicious meal or goody.
Surviving are her siblings Alice Mignella and George Velcheck; and her brother in law Joe Burke. She was predeceased by her sisters, Margaret, Mary, and her brothers Frank, Joseph and Hillary (Woody). Ann is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11am on Wednesday, April 6 at St. Joseph Church, Bound Brook. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway. Visiting will precede the Mass on Wednesday morning at the Cusick Funeral Home, 80 Mountain Ave., Somerville beginning at 9am.
