Alice Johnson died December 17. She was born in Carbondale, PA and was a graduate of Benjamin Franklin High School there, class of 1942 and later graduated from the School of Commerce in Rochester, NY. A former resident of Raritan, NJ and Clearbrook in Monroe Twp., NJ, she had moved to Hillsborough recently. She was the only child of Cornelius Brain and Jennie Wilce Brain of Carbondale and Clifford, PA. Her mother was a former Justice of the Peace in Clifford Twp. Alice retired in 1992 from a local CPA firm in Somerville after 18 years as office manager and accountant and later she had her own business for 6 years. She was an active volunteer for Deborah Hospital for many years and chaired numerous fund raising events for their Foundation. Alice was predeceased by her husband Norman R. Johnson who died in 2001. Surviving are her son Allan R. Jones of Waymart, PA, 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held at the Caanan Corners Cemetery in Waymart, PA. Memorial donations may be made in her name to your favorite charity.
