Beloved husband, father and grandfather, Alfonso Sasso, 87, passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Marigliano Italy, and has resided in Somerset County, NJ since 1970.

Alfonso was a most gracious and kind gentleman, and was loved by all who knew him. He worked for Sunshine Biscuits in Sayreville for many years, until his retirement in the early 1990s. Alfonso was an avid gardener, and tended to his lemon and fig trees with the same attentive, quiet, loving care that he treated all those who came across his path. He will be missed by his devoted wife, Stephanie and his sons Sebastian and Joe and their wives. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, whom he adored.

Visitation will be held at the Cusick Funeral Home, Somerville on Thursday February 23 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 am on Friday, February 24 at the Immaculate Conception Church, 35 Mountain Ave, Somerville. Entombment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Piscataway
