Raymond "Ray" Mamone Sr., 88, husband of the late Bernadine who passed away in 2012, died May 3 at Hunterdon Medical Center. Born in Brooklyn, NY and resided in Whitehouse before moving to Somerville in 1962.

Mr. Mamone owned and operated Rays Auto Body in Somerville for over 40 years retiring in 1983 and passing the ownership to Ray Jr. operating the business now in Freemanburg, PA. After he retired, he pursued his dream of owning thoroughbred race horses and winning a Stake Race and after some years and the respect of the horse racing industry, he did just that with his GRADE 1 track record breaker "Imperial Hint.".

Surviving are his children Patricia McAdams-Burt (Husband David) and Raymond Mamone Jr., his grandchildren Justin McAdams and Rachel Grieder, Raymond and Brianna Mamone, (their Mother Collen Mamone) and his great grandchildren Lily, Violet and Montgomery and his faithful companion of 7 years, Debbie Angelow.
